In collaboration with INBB and University of Parma, Adamas Biotech has published its preclinical research on green tea catechins’ cardioprotective effects on the diabetic heart and their mechanism of action. The research revealed that increased expression and activity of SIRT1 substantially contributed to the GTEs cardioprotective funcion. The data supports the potential for the use of green tea dietary polyphenols as an adjuvant for counteracting the initial damage of the diabetic heart before the occurrence of diabetic cardiomyopathy.
